17-year-old Caitlin Taylor feels "lucky to be alive" after a shark attacked the teen while swimming in the Gulf of Mexico during Spring Break.
Taylor punched the shark several times to get free, but still suffered injuries to her legs requiring 120-140 stitches.
Nat Geo agrees the teen did the right thing by being "aggressively defensive" -- people mistakenly think "playing dead" will save them, but it's much more dangerous.
Taylor posted photos on social media of her wounds.
