There is a new king of New York baseball.
The Mets are now New York City’s favorite team, by a slim 45 to 43 percent margin, according to the annual Quinnipiac University New York Baseball Poll.
This is a huge deal because over the last 30 years, the Yankees have average a 55 to 31 percent advantage in the poll.
While the Mets have been a playoff team lately and the Yankees have been mediocre, it is surprising to see the great New York Yankees competing for fandom in the city.
Can the Mets win a World Series and truly take over?
