The Netflix takeover continues.
More U.S. television households now have the streaming service than a digital video recorder, according to a recent study.
The study reveals about 54% of U.S. adults said they have Netflix in their household — while 53% have a DVR. This is the first time in the history of the study that the popular streaming services has passed the traditional DVR.
As of 2011, only 28% of households had Netflix, while 44% had a DVR.
Netflix reported 49.4 million streaming subscribers at the end of 2016, and that is just in the U.S.
While the study says that people are still watching traditional TV and flipping through channels, Netflix is clearly where the action is right now.
