The NBA trade deadline is arguably the most important time of year for teams. It allows them to assess their situation and choose a direction for their team.
The New York Knicks are bad, and they have some older players on large contracts like Carmelo Anthony. Some teams were interested in doing deals with the Knicks, but there was one problem: They couldn't get in touch with the man in charge of the Knicks, Phil Jackson.
The Knicks made no moves at the deadline, even though several teams seemed to have interest in Carmelo and Derrick Rose. One NBA general manager told Frank Isola of the New York Daily News last week in New Orleans that his team “can’t get a hold of Phil.” The GM added that he thought it was “crazy” that Jackson was so difficult to contact days before the trade deadline.
Things just keep getting worse for the Knicks and the end of the road could be near for Phil.
