Monday night was a great night for the Clemson Tigers. Not so much for Las Vegas.
The College Football Playoff National Title was one of the most bet on games ever. Bookmakers estimated $15 million to $20 million was bet statewide on the game in Nevada and most of the money was with the underdog Clemson Tigers, who pulled off the upset and beat Alabama. Because of this, Vegas sports books took a huge loss.
The Wynn took a low six-figure loss. MGM Resorts absorbed a high six-figure loss.
Up and down the Las Vegas Strip, bookmakers were on the losing end on the most-heavily bet college football game in recent memory.
